Employee Resource Group Updates

BUiLD

We kicked off April with our Q1 national call, where each region shared key updates — including our newest region, AFG. We spotlighted our continued focus on the four Cs model: culture, community, career, and commerce, reinforcing our commitment to meaningful engagement and growth. We also shared exciting progress around diversity recruitment, highlighting both local efforts and national marketing strategies aimed at expanding our talent pipeline. Stay tuned — our Q2 national update will be hitting your inbox soon.

In other exciting news, planning is well underway for our 2025 BUiLD Summit. Initial communications have been shared with senior leaders, and formal notifications and invitations will be sent to managers and attendees in late May or June. This year’s theme, Owning Our Future Together, is a powerful blend of current corporate themes: Forward Focused. Future Ready. and Back to Basics.

Need a little inspiration to carry you through the mid-year push? Check out this highlight reel from last year’s BUiLD Summit in Houston, Texas — it’s sure to reignite your energy!

Moment Connection

All regions have been engaged with our 2025 theme of Lift. Lead. Ascend.

In Q1, we celebrated Women in Construction Week (WIC). Special thanks to all those who helped plan and support the busy, successful week of celebrating JE Dunn’s talented women. Just a few of the WIC Week events across our regions included:

  • Midwest: The Omaha office volunteered for a nonprofit that supports period poverty. Kansas City hosted a business leader panel about ERGs’ impacts.
  • South Central: The Austin office enjoyed golfing.
  • West: The Phoenix office hosted jobsite tours, leadership development sessions, and a social event with 100% participation. The Portland office held a panel discussion, an owner’s rep panel, and a STEM event.
  • AFG: KNC and NRD brought in guest speaker Ashley Parker to speak about working in the field, and a physical therapist offered a Movement and Meditation session. The Temple, Texas, jobsite honored women at their All-Hands meetings, passed out women’s vests, and hosted a lunch to spotlight women in the field.
  • Healthcare: In partnership with the Nashville office, the region offered a panel featuring JE Dunn women, as well as a cocktail/mocktail event.
  • East: The region hosted jobsite tours, women’s appreciation meals, and service projects. The Atlanta office collected clothing for a shelter, and the Savannah office held a packaging event for The Sacred Transition. The Charlotte office held an industry speed networking event. Atlanta, Nashville, and Tampa held meals for field women.

2025 is proving to be Moment Connection’s best, most collaborative, supportive year yet!

SOMOS

SOMOS recently celebrated the culture, history, and contributions of the Hispanic community on Cinco de Mayo. While commonly known for its lively traditions, Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican victory at the Battle of Puebla, a symbol of resilience and unity.

We planned fun and meaningful celebrations to honor this day, with opportunities to enjoy authentic food and learn more about the significance behind the holiday. It was a chance to come together, celebrate our heritage, and share in the spirit of community.
