BUiLD
The first half of the year culminated with BUiLD celebrating Juneteenth with members and allies across the country. An inclusive atmosphere was created from Atlanta to Kansas City to Portland. Food trucks, live music, BBQ, trivia, and bingo created an educational awareness of the importance of the Juneteenth holiday across our 26 offices. BUiLD members have stayed busy giving back to the comminutes we serve, such as the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center clay shooting competition and donating to the Colorado Association of Black Professional Engineers.
Focus has now shifted to the BUiLD Summit, which will be held in Kansas City from Oc. 22-24. The host committee is working hard to organize positive and memorable conference that will focus on career growth, financial literacy, mental health, and how we can continue to create an inclusive culture that adds value to JE Dunn.

Moment Connection
Q2 has been an active one for Moment Connection across our regions and many offices! In addition to our events, Moment Connection has also piloted JE Dunn’s new ERG Platform. This new application is a simple tool and landing page for all things ERGs. It allows employees to opt in to any of our four ERGs and easily access upcoming meetings and events.
Our teams across the regions came together for a variety of impactful and engaging events. AFG launched a school supply drive and kicked off a new book club, deepening both community ties and internal connections. Offices hosted everything from volunteer efforts, like Atlanta’s ongoing partnership with Soccer in the Streets, to creative gatherings such as Healthcare’s hybrid pottery event that blended team bonding with future planning. The Midwest saw jobsite tours, brunches, and financial wellness sessions, while the South Central region stayed especially active with over 10 events, many in collaboration with industry partners. Out West, teams focused on kindness and connection through handmade cards for seniors and letters to deployed service members. Across the board, it was a strong quarter of giving back, growing together, and having fun.

SOMOS
Hispanic Heritage Month is just around the corner — celebrated from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 — and our Hispanic and Latino ERG, SOMOS, is excited to host a variety of events across our offices.
We encourage all SOMOS members and allies to take part in the celebrations. If you’re not yet a member but want to learn more, we invite you to join an event and gain insight into the culture, history, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latino community.
As part of these celebrations, JE Dunn will also honor several local Hispanic- and Latino-based community programs with generous donations. These organizations have been selected because their values strongly align with ours, and we are proud to support their impact.

VALOR
In addition to Veterans Day coming up soon, Project Manager 1 Randy Biersdorff has led a national initiative in support of the Gary Sinise Foundation, a program that helps wounded veterans and first responders by building and providing adapted smart homes — 100% mortgage-free. He has assisted with one completed home, is waiting on a permit for a second one, and is leading efforts to help source concrete donations around the country on several others that are in the planning stage.
