ERG Updates

BUiLD:

BUiLD members companywide continue promoting connection, service, and growth. In AFG, members helped organize food and clothing for local families, with plans to return monthly. The region also hosted a jobsite Jeopardy event — complete with buzzers — during Black History Month. The Midwest BUiLD team gathered to celebrate one member’s 20-year JE Dunn anniversary, as well as those who had received promotions, while strengthening connections across the group. East Region members honored Martin Luther King Jr. Day through service to a local nonprofit. They then brought in historian and professor Dr. Maurice Hobson to present on the history of hip-hop in Atlanta and its connection to the city’s political landscape. In South Central, Houston team members connected with students at the 100 Black Men Collegiate Leadership Summit, sharing insights on leadership, communication, and broadly applicable professional skills, while Oklahoma City members partnered with SOMOS to serve at a food pantry during National Volunteer Week. These efforts are a few examples of how BUiLD fosters belonging, leadership, and impact across all regions.

Moment Connection:

JE Dunn’s first ERG, Moment Connection, turns 10 this year, and we have many impactful events planned around the country, as well as our fourth National Operations Leadership Summit to be held in Phoenix this fall.

In January, Moment Connection office leaders gathered in Kansas City for our second annual National Leadership Planning Retreat, where we set our theme of “A Decade of Moments, A Future of Momentum,” focusing on visibility, personal empowerment, and intentionality. These planning retreats allow our leaders to collaborate and dream big on how to make the most impact for all JE Dunn employees. Attendees left inspired and focused more than ever to create meaningful Moment Connection events in each region, helping our employees feel connected, empowered, and supported to be their best, authentic selves at JE Dunn.

Our East Region Moment Connection group enjoyed a group meditation and reflection by a fire pit. We asked women to write anything they want to leave from the past year and burn it in the fire. They also set intentions for the year on vision boards.

AFG Moment Connection members have had luck coming together from all project sites around the country for a fun, virtual trivia event. It’s been a great success the past few years — certainly worth repeating.

Moment Connection events are inclusive, inspiring, and provide excellent leadership, education, and community engagement opportunities. It’s no surprise to see those fully engaged with our ERGs are some of our most thriving employees. Cheers to 10, MC!

SOMOS:

SOMOS, JE Dunn’s Hispanic and Latinx ERG, continues to elevate connection, culture, and community through engagement taking place across offices and jobsites nationwide. A standout moment from the past year was the Hispanic Maker Holiday Mart, piloted at the Kansas City HQ. The event showcased Hispanic- and Latinx-owned small businesses and created meaningful opportunities for employees to support local entrepreneurs. Building on that success, SOMOS hopes to expand the concept in 2026 — potentially partnering with BUiLD to host a joint holiday mart highlighting minority-led businesses.

Equally inspiring were Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations hosted across multiple regions, each bringing local flavor and creativity — from cultural programming and service activities to food-centered gatherings that encouraged learning and connection. These events demonstrated the flexibility and impact of SOMOS at a local level while remaining aligned with a shared national mission.

Looking ahead, SOMOS regions are exploring World Cup–themed engagement as several U.S. cities — including Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, and Kansas City — prepare to host the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

Through collaboration, allyship, and shared cultural celebration, SOMOS strengthens JE Dunn culture nationwide — creating connections that extend well beyond any single location.

VALOR:

VALOR has had a strong start to 2026 with a focus on building consistency and strengthening our structure across all regions. Our theme this year is “Organize and Consistency,” and we’re making great strides — from rolling out a new PowerApps platform for event tracking and member engagement, to ensuring each office hosts at least one VALOR event per quarter tied to military holidays and awareness moments.

One highlight we’re proud of is our partnership with BUiLD on a volunteer event at Oregon Food Bank, where our teams repacked 3,293 pounds of food — that’s 2,744 meals for families in need. It was a great example of ERGs coming together for community impact, and we plan to make cross-ERG volunteer events a regular part of our calendar.

Looking ahead, we have a co-volunteer opportunity with Wilderness on Wheels this June, and we’re excited about the fourth annual JE Dunn Tee It Up for the Troops Golf Outing on July 29 in Omaha; registration is already open and it sold out last year, so we encourage everyone to sign up early. We also continue to build out quarterly programming, with Q2 focuses on family and student support, followed by career development in Q3 and financial skills in Q4. We also hosted a Lyra Mental Health Awareness event in May as part of our healthcare focus.

If you haven’t connected with VALOR yet, now is a great time. Whether you’re a veteran, military family member, or simply want to support those who’ve served, VALOR offers a year-round community dedicated to meaningful engagement, professional growth, and giving back.
