Indirect Procurement

JE Dunn’s Procurement team manages sourcing and purchasing for both projects and corporate operations — resulting in greater efficiency and supply chain reliability while reducing overall costs and risk for the company. The three functional support areas are General Construction Materials, Long Lead Procurement, and Indirect Procurement/Supplier Diversity. This article takes a closer look at Indirect Procurement.

Indirect procurement refers to the process of sourcing and acquiring goods and services vital to carrying out the company’s daily, corporate operations. To compare this with direct procurement, think about the same functional support our Procurement Representatives provide daily to project operations, but for corporate operations. Examples include office supplies, maintenance services, travel programs, marketing buys, IT equipment, and more. “As a growing enterprise, this is an exciting opportunity to further leverage our scale from a supply chain perspective and drive bottom line impact in a real and visible way,” said Jason Banks, Vice President, National Procurement Director. As a growing company, these are additional opportunities for us to leverage our scale for the ultimate benefit of our clients and our overall bottom line.

What Does This Mean for You?

JE Dunn’s indirect supply chain covers a wide variety of spend categories. We are especially excited about our work on those that have impact on employees’ day-to-day experience. For example, we are developing new corporate partnerships for both women’s and men’s PPE in collaboration with Safety. Additionally, we have begun reevaluating our travel program in collaboration with Finance. This has resulted in a few new and exciting travel partnerships, including Uber, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines. Each of these are structured to make business travel more efficient and cost effective, and the benefits even extend to personal travel for JE Dunn employees! More information on rates and how to take advantage of these programs can found on the recently revamped Travel page.
