No matter where you show up for work each day, at JE Dunn, we believe in health and well-being. In addition to maintaining physical wellness, prioritizing mental and emotional well-being is essential to sustaining the energy, focus, and resilience that our work demands. This guiding principle reflects a simple belief: when our people are supported, they can to bring their best selves not only to their work, but also to their families and their communities.
This year also marks 20 years of our dedicated Well-Being Program. Now for two decades, through education, resources, and incentives, the program has encouraged JE Dunn employees to take meaningful steps toward improving their overall wellness.
In this edition of Elevations, you’ll see the many ways well-being takes shape at JE Dunn, from project and people spotlights to stories that highlight how teams extend their care into the communities where we live and work.
Focusing on health and well-being strengthens all of us, both as individuals and as a company culture. Thank you for all you do, and stay well.
We meet up Monday mornings to do a HIIT class and Wednesdays for yoga; it helps us find a little mid-week zen.
While our project has long hours, we spread out the stress and the personal demand so that nobody gets overwhelmed.
We are all accountability buddies to ensure we work hard but also have as much fun as possible while doing it.
As we reflect on this past year, I want to express my gratitude for the moments we were able to come together to learn, share knowledge, and celebrate our commonalities as well as our differences. These efforts have provided opportunities for growth — personally, professionally, and as a company.
In 2025, we strengthened our commitment to making sure everyone feels a sense of belonging at JE Dunn. We know that a strong sense of belonging connects people to their work and to one another. Establishing a culture where employees have opportunities for both personal and professional growth is vital.
In college I worked as a brand ambassador for Abercrombie & Fitch.
I would prefer it to be a really fun lunch rather than picking a thought leader or historical figure that I look up to, so I would probably pick one of my favorite comedians like Bill Murray, Zach Galifianakis, or Bill Burr.
I have always treasured our family ski trips to Snowshoe, West Virginia. More than any other vacations, it feels like those were always the most conducive to just keeping everyone together and happy the whole time. And nothing beats hanging out by the fire or hot tub while it is snowing outside.
Getting to share and participate in the leadership journeys of our amazing preconstruction managers brings me a lot of joy. That, and winning projects. In my personal life, I love being a dad to three wonderful kids, cooking, and designing home improvement projects.
My claim to fame is probably being known as a straightforward communicator that has been willing to be the lone dissenter on multiple occasions. I am a big believer in challenging the status quo and thinking outside of the box, and those are qualities that I try to impart on the NC preconstruction team. Outside of work, nobody makes a better Manhattan.
